Through research and site visits, you will learn the natural, human and cultural history of each site. You will also have an opportunity to develop high interest lessons for your students that meet your teaching goals.
CULTURAL PORTLAND
In this informative course, you are asked to visit museums, parks and gardens to more fully understand Portland's Cultural history. Along the way, you will develop dozens of teaching ideas.

EXPLORING PORTLAND'S INTERSTATE MAX LINE
In this self guided course, you'll discover dozens of impressive artworks, as you visit each of the 10 MAX Stations along the Interstate Avenue MAX Line, from the Interstate Rose Quarter station to the Expo Center. You will also explore the Albina, Mississippi, Overlook, and Kenton neighborhoods on foot to discover local history and culture.
PUBLIC ART & NEIGHBORHOOD HISTORY: EXPLORING WESTSIDE MAX
In this self guided course, you'll visit 17 MAX stations, from the Providence Park Station in SW Portland to the Hatfield Government Center in Downtown Hillsboro. Along the way you'll discover more than 100 artworks. In addition, you'll visit the Washington County Sculpture Garden in Downtown Hillsboro, finding five enormous sculptures. You'll develop teaching ideas that can be implemented across the curriculum.
HISTORIC OREGON CITY
In this self guided course, you'll develop a greater understanding of the importance in Oregon City in the establishment of Oregon. In this course, you will visit the McLoughlin House Museum, the Museum of the Oregon Territory, the Stevens Crawford House, the Ermatinger House and the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center Museum. In addition, a detailed self guided walking tour will take you to a 1930's stone staircase and hidden waterfall. You'll also discover the beautiful Arch Bridge over the Willamette River, an historic municipal elevator, the gorgeous Oregon City Promenade and Willamette Falls, known as the “Niagra of the West.” You'll develop dozens of teaching ideas focusing on history, science and nature.
