DISCOVERING NATURAL & HISTORIC TREASURES IN EAST MULTNOMAH COUNTY
In this fun and informative course, you'll explore the Butler Creek Greenway, home to an abundance of wildlife. You'll also visit Downtown Gresham to locate intriguing sculptures, murals and architecture, and you'll tour the recently renovated Tsuru Japanese Garden, located within Gresham Main City Park. A tour of the art and architecture found at McMenamin's Edgefield will reveal why the site is on the National Register of Historic Places. You'll develop teaching ideas spanning the curriculum.

LOWER SANDY RIVER
In this interesting self guided course, you will visit four sites along the Sandy River where you'll discover natural history, human history and recreational opportunities. Visits to Lewis & Clark State Park, the Sandy River Delta, Glenn Otto Park in Troutdale and Oxbow Park (east of Gresham), will spark ideas for lessons focusing on local geology, Native American life along the river, and Lewis and Clark's 1805 and 1806 visits to this area. In addition, you'll develop ideas for teaching about native trees, plants, birds, salmon and recreation.
